| Fr. David: | The Church is against abortion because abortion is an act of violence. It ends the life of a human being who has been created in the image and likeness of God. God gives life... and only He can take it away. If we could take it away from others, we would be making ourselves into God. | ||
| GIRL: | I guess I never thought of it that way. That's interesting. | ||
| Fr. David: | Now God has expressed this to us in His commandment, "Thou shalt not kill." So on the one hand, we know that killing is wrong. | ||
| GIRL: | And... on the other hand? | ||
| Fr. David: | On the other hand, people do things under all sorts of pressure, and we don't know what is going on in their mind or what they are feeling. So, only God knows exactly how guilty they are, and whether or not their action has put them in danger of going to hell. | ||
