| GIRL: | Sometimes I wonder if there really is a God, and... if there is, why would he let me do the things I do? | ||
| Fr. TOM: | That's a good question. | ||
| GIRL: | I don't expect you to have the answer. | ||
| Fr. TOM: | Well, much of God's love requires faith on our part to understand, but faith, as tiny as a mustard see, can... with God's help... do the impossible. | ||
| GIRL: | I guess I need more faith. | ||
| Fr. TOM: | We all need more faith. Please let me explain a little bit about how God works. | ||
| GIRL: | Sure. | ||
| Fr. TOM: | God sent his only begotten son to suffer the insults and the injustice of others and feel sorrow, even as you or I would. He came down from the Throne of God, in Heaven, to redeem us all from our sins and to reopen, through his Sacrifice on the Cross, the Gates of Heaven... and now that you need His help. Don't you think He is most happy to be able to help you? | ||
| GIRL: | Well, why would He care about me? | ||
| Fr. TOM: | Because you are His daughter and He made you in His image and likeness and He loves you very much. | ||
| GIRL: | Really? Even though I did something really bad? | ||
| Fr. TOM: | God is always available to help His children... all His children on earth... and He worries more, much more, about those that are lost and afraid. He stretches out His nailed, pierced helping hand to each and everyone of His children, including you and me! | ||
