JESUS THE CHRIST AND HIS COUSIN JOHN THE BAPTIST

The Angel Gabriel, said referring to Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, "Joy and gladness will be yours and many will rejoice at his birth; for he will be great in the Eyes of the Lord. He will never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother's womb. Many of the sons of Isreal will he bring back to the Lord their God.
God Himself will go before him, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the rebellious to the wisdom of the just, and to prepare for the Lord a people well-disposed." Luke 1: 13 - 17.

ST. JOSEPH
"Now this is how the Birth of Jesus Christ came about. When his mother was engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with child through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, her husband, an upright man unwilling to expose her to the law, decided to divorce her quietly. Such was his intention when suddenly the Angel of the Lord, appeared in a dream and said to him, "Joseph, son of David, have no fear about taking Mary as your wife. It is by the Holy Spirit that she has conceived this Child. She is to have a Son and you are to name Him, Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins." All this happened to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The Virgin shall bear a Child and give birth to a Son and they shall call Him Emmanuel, "a name which means 'God is with us.' "
When Joseph awoke he did as the Angel of the Lord had directed him and received her into his home as his wife. He had no relations with her at any time before she bore a Son, whom he named Jesus." Matthew 1:18-25

JESUS, THE LAMB OF GOD

The next day when John caught sight of Jesus he exclaimed: "Look! There is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!" John gave testimony also: "I saw the Spirit descend like a dove from the sky, and it came to rest on Him." But I did not recognize Him. The One who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'When you see the Spirit descend and rest on someone, it is He who is to baptize with the Holy Spirit.' Now I have seen for myself and have testified, 'This is God's Chosen One.'" John 1:29, 32-34.
